Resource Center

India is working towards creating an inclusive society through inclusive development in which everyone participates and enjoys the fruits of inclusive development. The national policy recognizes that persons with disabilities are an important resource for country and seeks to create an environment that provides those equal opportunities, protection of their rights and full participation.The 11th& 12th plans of India highlight the role of universities and affiliated colleges in rehabilitation. In connection to this Vijaya teachers college established the inclusive development and inclusive education resource center in collaboration with CBR network south Asia which is known for inclusive education activities  in international level.

Our present resource center is well equipped  with digital libraries, virtual classroom lectures, multimedia, FAQs, journals, and e learning materials. the center’s work is focused on transferring skills, building local expertise, and creating an environment for persons with disabilities to engage in the development of sustainable, integrated and accessible rehabilitation and education services. The aim is to maximize university colleges and community participation in facilitating a equitable society for people with disabilities.

OBJECTIVES

  1. To develop resource centers with resource books and materials of high quality in the field of education and rehabilitation of people with disabilities and marginalized groups.
  2. To strengthen the participation of people with disabilities & marginalized groups in higher education.
  3. to share existing knowledge and build new knowledge in the field to do inclusive development and inclusive education through online debates, seminars and workshops and newsletters, fact sheets etc.

OUTCOMES OF THE RESOURCE CENTRE

  1. Organized the national level seminar on inclusive education with international level resource persons.
  2. Thematic focus for collection of books and materials to our center under the following areas.
    1. Awarness
    2. Policies
    3. Data base
    4. Early intervention and prevention
    5. Education
    6. CBR, Inclusion and mainstreaming
    7. Conflict situations.
